This academic year has been an outstanding one for swimming at High March, with students across all year groups displaying impressive skill, determination and sportsmanship in both friendly and competitive galas. Our competitive season began with a strong performance from the Year 4%u20136 B Team, who secured a victory against Maltman%u2019s Green in September with a score of 94%u201384. This early success was a sign of things to come, as our swimmers went on to dominate the Division 10 galas throughout the year. In October, the Year 6 team collected 180 points, and by November, all three year groups%u2014Years 4, 5 and 6%u2014had claimed wins at the next round of the Division 10 Swimming galas. These victories continued into the Spring Term, with further wins recorded at both the January and February Division 10 galas. The hard work paid off at the Division 10 Finals in May, where Year 4 emerged as champions, and the combined Year 5 and 6 team was placed 3rd overall, collecting an impressive 11 medals.Younger swimmers also gained valuable experience throughout the year, with the Year 3 Squad participating in friendly events, and our B Team swimmers representing the school in various fixtures this year. Our annual Christmas Gala brought festive cheer, with all Squads and Development swimmers participating in a fun, team-spirited event. We were also proud to have individual swimmers and relay teams represent the school at high-level competitions. At the ESSA event in November, our school earned a 3rd place in the breaststroke and 4th in the backstroke. In June, our Year 6 Individual swimmer achieved a fantastic 3rd place in backstroke at the IAPS National Finals, held at the London Aquatics Centre%u2014a truly exceptional result on the national stage.Other highlights included a strong win in a friendly gala against RMS in February and a closely contested meet at Davenies in June, where, disappointingly, High March narrowly lost by just one point after many years of winning the fixture.Congratulations to all our swimmers for a year of excellent performances and personal bests. Looking forward to the next year of swimming!Ms Adamidou, Swim Teacher SWIMMING29
