42CREATIVE WRITING YEAR 5The VoidThe Void is a mysterious creature which lurks at the bottom of a moonlit loch. It is able to teleport and is able to regrow its head. As legend has it, this monstrous creature has ten hearts, but nine are immortal and only one is mortal, so you would have to stab the mortal heart without stabbing any of the others, as it is said that the nine immortal hearts squirt out poison if you stab them.Every fortnight, this terrifying creature meets up with other evil creatures directly below the moon. It looks like an octopus and is fully black, apart from its magenta eyes. You can also see all ten hearts pumping its poisonous blood around its dark body %u2013 its chest keeps heavily moving up and down, up and down.Living for up to 500 to 800 years, which is only an estimate, this terrible creature is by now, roughly, 300 years old.Sometimes, if it wants to, it will crawl out of the loch and creep onto land, normally for meetings, so make sure you are aware and looking carefully around, every day, every hour.If it decides it is extremely hungry, it will sneak out of the woods, and will silently go to people%u2019s homes, and actually eat them! Most would suggest not to try to defeat it as it probably will eat you with its grinding, gruesome, sharp teeth.Fighting is very unusual for it, but every hundred years, it brings the team it meets up with and creates a massive fight against us humans. Sometimes, you can spot its huge shadow in the moonlight %u2013 if you do, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!Annabelle AThe RingriserThis bird-like creature is only seen by the kind-hearted. The Ringriser is about the size of an albatross and with its wingspan of 120cm, this creature seems to be invincible, but beware, if a constellation is lost, it fades into thin air.The Ringriser has wide emerald eyes that are able to see the slightest of movements. Its wings are a variety of reds, yellows, oranges and blues. Its beak is a vibrant yellow.No one has ever seen this bird-like phenomenon and it is said to live on a tree stump on top of the sun. It moves as gracefully as a ballroom dancer prancing across the night sky and it%u2019s said that it will enchant even the smallest of animals.Without it we would have darkness. This wonderfully helpful creature makes the sun rise and the moon go down. It carries day and night on its shoulders. And if small children can%u2019t get to sleep, the Ringriser is there for them as it sprinkles its sleepy dust on them and watches their eyes start to droop.It is mainly known for its body. Half is painted with the ink from the moon and stars, and the other half is painted from the sun%u2019s sap!But... remember, only the kindest of hearts can see this creature.Penelope ArenaArena can be found in the darkness at the bottom of the sea, where the sea turns midnight black. Arena lives in an underwater cave where thousands of rocks have been laid. She is very rarely seen by the people who drown into the ocean. Her glowing red eyes pierce through the black sea. She has bright green fluorescent hair which reflects in the darkness. Her dark, gloomy face is hidden by her hair. Her scales slither through the water as quickly as an eel. Arena is half human girl and half fish. She has an evil and dangerous personality with cunning plans. She is unfriendly and is nasty. Her heart is a ball of acid. She can create storms when boats are close and can turn invisible. You feel a shiver down your spine when she is near. The few who have seen Arena have nothing left other than terror.The only way to kill Arena is to expose her to daylight or to pluck out a scale. She feeds on the flesh of the living things who were unfortunate enough to fall into the water. Everyone is terrified of her because of the rumours that have been spread. No one dares to ever see her again.JessicaThe AeroshifterDark in a cave at the top of a tall mountain, in the east of China, where no hope wanders, there stands the Aeroshifter. This gigantic up-to-500-years living monster has twenty shark-like fins all around body to hold down its prey, wings like a dragon to scan all human up from the sky and killer eyes like a lion - just its stare can kill in less than a second.Rumour has it, no explorer has ever seen this horrific beast for sure because of its mighty power to shapeshift. Some say they have tried to capture it, or at least hunt it down but all they could find was a rabbit, or a duck or a pig. Lots think this is because it changes shape extremely quickly so nobody can catch it. But fear not, because although this creature will certainly kill at first, it itself can be killed. The Aeroshifter cannot be happy so if you bring a little bit of hope and joy into its cave, the horrendous horror will begin to stop breathing. This is because it breathes on darkness, the sad spirit of its cruel, lonely heart. If you ever try to defeat an Aeroshifter and don%u2019t want to get killed by the stare of its eye then make sure to wear a metal suit. The metal reflects everything meaning you have much more protection.The Aeroshifter is extremely hard to tame, but not quite impossible. You never know when you may come across anAeroshifter - at the park, at the airport, literally anywhere, so make sure you are ready and be prepared.Annelise
