YEAR 6 SKI TRIP13A fantastic ski week in AustriaOn Friday 2nd February, 36 Year 6 girls embarked on a wonderful 8-day ski trip to Austria. Although it was a very early start, we were all bubbling with excitement as we got on the coach, and still just as energetic when we got on the coach to the resort. Before we could relax, it was time for a trip to the ski shop to kit us out with ski boots, skis and poles. After a relaxing dinner, we all fell asleep the minute we were tucked into the cosy beds, ready for another early start the following morning. This time, however, it was to go skiing! But first - a delicious hot chocolate to accompany breakfast eagerly awaited us. The fun of the trip wasn%u2019t limited to just the skiing, but also the enjoyable activities which took place after a good 4 hours of skiing, not forgetting lunch wedged halfway between. These consisted of:%u2022 Movie night%u2022 Rock climbing (the first successful ascent was done by Annabel)%u2022 Board games/escape rooms%u2022 Toboggan run (mostly done at top speed, and much screaming involved, obviously!)%u2022 Water park (huge waterslides which even Mrs O%u2019Shaughnessy enjoyed!)%u2022 Disco%u2022 Talent show%u2022 Quiz (hosted by the amazing quizmasters, Mrs Levison and Mrs Jackson)%u2022 BowlingAnd yet the excitement didn%u2019t end there! Lots of competitions drove us to be our best. There was the quiz, of course, won by the excellent team named Rainbow Dragons, and there were also competitions for the most courteous table at dinner, the neatest dorm and in addition, the talent show which was smashed by a team of 4, who performed the jovial High March the Musical. To round off the ski week, there was a competitive slalom race within each ski group. We are all very grateful to the teachers who made the trip of our lives not only happen, but made it so exhilarating %u2013 there was always something to do! Everyone (including the teachers) really improved their skiing by the end of the week, and showed resilience and a growth mind set; the beginners can now ski down the mountain with ease. We would definitely recommend it to next year%u2019s Year 6!
