On Friday, 3rd February, twenty-eight Year 6 pupils and six members of staff departed for the ski trip to Flachau in Austria.
On our first morning, everyone woke up excited about the prospect of skiing. It was snowing lightly as we stepped outside: perfect conditions for skiing. It was the first time for many of us on the mountains, but by the end of the day, everyone had begun to get their ski legs.
On Wednesday we had a change of scenery by going to a different ski resort called Zauchensee. The runs here were more challenging and there was a slalom racecourse which we all had a go at. Some of us had a wipe out!
On the last day everybody took part in the slalom race. It was great fun and everyone was awarded medals and certificates; the fastest slalom racer was Edie.
Every evening we would participate in an activity. We went racing down a hill in a toboggan ride and we visited a water park where there was a wave machine, water slides and a hot, outdoor lazy river. At our hotel we all had a go at the indoor climbing wall, took part in a talent show, had a cinema
evening, played escape room games, answered questions about school in a quiz and had our very own High March disco.
Many thanks to Mrs O’Shaughnessy for all her hard work organising the trip and to all the teachers who accompanied us, Mr Chapples, Miss Walker, Mrs Butterfield, Mrs Lambert, Mrs Baxter and our helper, Miss Baxter. It has been a great experience for everyone and we will remember it for the rest of our lives.
