Our Head Girls, Jess and Anna, took centre stage for ‘Children in Need’, leading a fantastic array of activities at both Upper School and Junior House. Everyone came to School dressed in ‘dotty mufti’ complete with multiple items of Pudsey merchandise. Brown and yellow furry ears were very much the order of the day!
There was a wide range of activities for everyone at Junior House and at Upper School; it certainly was a fun day with, of course, a serious element, that of raising
money for children who are less fortunate than High March pupils.
A big thank-you must go to Jess and Anna, and also their mothers, for all their help in running such a successful event and, of course, to everyone for their very enthusiastic support.
We are delighted to announce that we raised over £1,000.
Mrs Anderson, one of the founder Head Teachers, chose the NSPCC as the School charity back in 1948 and ever since then it has been the School’s designated charity. The Charity Prefects raise money for the NSPCC at the Christmas Fayre and at various activities throughout the year, for example NSPCC Number Day.
As a result of our long-standing links with the NSPCC, volunteers visit High March to promote children’s safety. This year, the NSPCC visited to deliver ‘Speak out. Stay Safe.’ workshops to our Year 5 and 6 pupils in which the concept of consent was explored and who might be a trusted adult whilst younger children took part in age-appropriate activities.
As is customary, retiring collections were taken at the Carol Service and various performances and we are indebted to High March parents for their generosity.
We are delighted to announce that this year an impressive total of £2628.99 was raised for the NSPCC.
